What attracts tourists from all over the world to the area near Iskanderkul?
Firstly, the lake is the mouth of the Iskander-Darya River, which after a kilometre distance forms a narrow gorge. A powerful forty-metre waterfall runs from it. It is often compared to Niagara.
Secondly, there is another lake near Iskanderkul called Zmeinoye. The reservoir is so called by tourists because snakes have been spotted there more than once.
