Vietnam's leadership has decided to waive visas for travelers from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain for one year, effective July 1. Representatives of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration stated that the country previously waived visas for travelers from these five countries for one year, beginning in July 2015, and then extended it for another twelve months.
During the first five months of 2017, Vietnam welcomed approximately 5,3 million international arrivals, representing a 29,6% increase compared to the same period in 2016, when the country received 873400 European visitors. This represents a 23,7% increase.
In the first five months of this year, Vietnam welcomed 126400 visitors from the UK, 123600 from France and 94200 from Germany, an increase of 12,7%, 10,1% and 17,4% respectively.
Vietnam's increased tourist demand is driven by the wealth of vacation options this exotic country offers. The country stretches nearly 2415 kilometers from the Mekong Delta to the mountains bordering China, encompassing a wide range of climates and ethnic groups. During their vacation, European travelers can discover both Northern and Southern Vietnam, explore its rich cultural heritage, and savor the local cuisine.
