US tourist Jeffrey Fowle, who was arrested at Pyongyang airport on May 7, 2014, has been released from custody and returned home.
According to North American media, 56-year-old US citizen Jeffrey Foale, who was detained in North Korea in mid-May of this year on a ridiculous charge, was released the day before.
Recall that Foale was seized at the airport and placed in custody on charges that he left a Bible wrapped in Chinese newspaper in the toilet of one of Pyongyang's fishing clubs. The reason for the arrest was the fact that the copy of the Bible found by a cleaner contained photographs of the American with his family and his personal phone number.
White House press service representatives confirmed the fact that the tourist had been released by North Korean authorities and called his imminent return to his homeland a positive development in resolving the issue with other American citizens serving time in North Korea.
