The procedure for obtaining a Schengen visa, which is necessary for visiting EU countries, is becoming more and more complicated for Ukrainian tourists. There have been more frequent cases of visa refusals due to the unacceptably low income of the Schengen applicant by European standards.

Let us recall that the EU tacitly requires that the minimum monthly income of a person expecting to receive Schengen visa, started with a sum of 300-400 euros. Before the Ukrainian hryvnia began its rapid fall into the abyss, citizens only had to confirm their monthly income of 3-4 thousand hryvnias, which was not a problem for most tourists.

Today, when the hryvnia has fallen in value against the dollar and the euro by 3.5 times, and the salaries of ordinary Ukrainians are not expected to grow, tourists must confirm a monthly income of 10-12.5 thousand hryvnia to obtain a visa - an amount that is unaffordable for most.

The situation is aggravated by the EU requirement for Ukrainian tourists (as well as for any other) to have an amount of expenses calculated at 40-60 euros for each day of stay in a particular Eurozone country.

It should be noted that, according to Ukrainian media, due to the low level of income, most often in obtaining a Schengen visa Recently, Poland and Germany have refused.
