Turks to Build 80-Story Hotel in Crimea for $1 Billion

A Turkish delegation of businessmen and investors, led by İlter Sağırsoy, visited the Republic of Crimea, where they held a number of key meetings with local entrepreneurs and officials.

Following the meetings, it became known that representatives of Turkish companies in the medium term ready to invest into the peninsula's tourism industry, furniture, food and light industries and some other sectors, a colossal sum of 12.5 billion US dollars.

Information has been received that the first tranche of approximately $1 billion has been approved, which will go toward the construction of an 80-story, 5-star hotel in Simferopol.

Commenting on the results of negotiations with Turkish businessmen, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, noted: "Factories producing domestic raw materials will be built in Crimea, which will lower prices for furniture, fabrics, and other goods imported from abroad. Crimea is capable of feeding itself."
