Project coordinator Elena Yurchenko, who once worked as the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the peninsula, announced two distinct features that make the Crimean Guest Card stand out from all similar offers. Firstly, the authors of the idea did not focus only on well-known resorts, which are already “selling” well and have a stable demand. The program participants also include little-known cities and resort villages, which will allow promoting tourism in all corners of the peninsula. Secondly, the owner of the Crimean Guest Card does not necessarily need to have Internet access, since all purchasing options are available for use even in places without the World Wide Web. This aspect, in turn, closely intersects with the first advantage, since in those settlements where the tourist infrastructure is not very developed, the Internet is still not a frequent occurrence. Oleg Safonov, who holds the position of head of the Federal Tourism Agency, has already acquired the new card.
Let us recall that Sergey Strelbitsky, the current Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the peninsula, complained about the decline in tourist flow to Crimea, citing unattractive weather conditions for potential vacationers. However, the weather is not stable, but the pricing policy in the republic remains overpriced to this day. Nevertheless, the relevant authorities have not yet cited this factor as one of the key reasons why there are fewer tourists on the peninsula.
