It is reported that on board the helicopter that crashed on the glacier were four British citizens, two Australians and the pilot – a citizen new Zealand.

The helicopter crash was reported to emergency services at approximately 10:55 a.m. local time on Saturday, November 21. Experts believe the primary cause of the crash is poor weather conditions and low visibility at the site.

Rescuers reportedly discovered the helicopter wreckage from the air, but were unable to land at the crash site due to poor weather conditions. However, eyewitnesses claim that a visual assessment of the damage sustained by the helicopter carrying the tourists leaves little hope of finding survivors.

The helicopter that crashed belonged to Alpine Adventures. The accident occurred on Fox Glacier, approximately 150 kilometers west of Christchurch, in the popular Westland National Park.
