Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed on the morning of Saturday, November 21, that there were Russian citizens among the tourists killed during the terrorist attack on the Radisson Blu Hotel in the capital of Mali, Bamako.
Although the Foreign Ministry has officially acknowledged the death of Russian citizens in Mali, at the moment the agency is not ready to name them. Zakharova said that after a thorough verification of all the facts, the Foreign Ministry will make an official statement. It should be noted that according to information in Russian and foreign media, there could have been at least three Russians among the hostages taken by the militants.
Let us recall that on Friday, November 20, a group of terrorists attacked the fashionable Radisson Blu hotel, located in the center of Bamako, the capital of Mali. In total, the terrorists held more than 170 hostages, including tourists who were guests of the hotel, and hotel staff.
According to the latest information, as a result of the militants' attack and subsequent storming of the hotel, 22 people were killed, including two terrorists, and seven more were injured. Hostages were released on Friday evening as a result of the storming of the Radisson Blu hotel.
The terrorist group Al-Mourabitoun, an Al-Qaeda affiliate, reportedly claimed responsibility for the bloody terrorist attack in Mali.
