As Irish President Michael D. Higgins admitted, he will tell all his friends about this magical place…
Irish President Michael D. Higgins has arrived in Turkey to attend commemorative ceremonies marking the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Canakkale. Following the official part of the event, the Irish leader was treated to a special banquet at the Ottoman restaurant Matbah, located in the Ottoman Hotel İmperial in Istanbul's historic Sultanahmet district. The restaurant offers its guests a taste of traditional ottoman cuisine, which more than 100 years ago appeared on the table of the Turkish Sultan and his entourage.
After the gala dinner, Michael D. Higgins personally thanked hotel manager Serdar Balta for the unrivaled service and the highest quality of services, and also promised that he would recommend the Matbah restaurant to all his friends and acquaintances.
"It is always a great honor for us to host dear and important guests like the President of Ireland Michael Higgins. We are proud and happy that our efforts are so highly appreciated and intend to continue to follow the traditions of Eastern hospitality in our work," — Serdar Balta shared his impressions of the meeting with the President.
