Thanks to the easing of quarantine measures for entry and stay in the country, the Thai province expects a significant increase in tourist flow. Agencies are already recording a steady increase in demand for vacations. Compared to October, tour bookings for November have increased by 21%. In the second month of autumn, the resort received 819 flights from 16 airlines.
According to the new entry regulations, tourists must book their trip 30 days before arriving in Phuket. This allows for an opportunity to analyze hotel occupancy rates and prepare accommodations. Local hotels are already raising prices, reaching 65% of pre-COVID levels.
Tour operators predict that if the coronavirus infection is under control this winter and Thai authorities scale up their vaccination program, at least 1 million vacationers will flock to the resort.
Phuket relies heavily on tourism from Russia and India. As a reminder, these countries are not on the list of permitted countries, so their citizens will have difficulty vacationing in Thailand.
The Russian Federation states that strict restrictive measures for Russian citizens prevent the organization of charter flights and last-minute tours to the resort.
