On November 10, a pedestrian gallery with a transparent floor over the famous Tower Bridge over the Thames opened in London for visiting by British citizens and foreign tourists.
Although the glass walkway is only 11 metres long, it offers a stunning view from a height of 42 metres of both London traffic on the bridge and the river vessels passing underneath.
According to some information, about a million pounds sterling was spent on the arrangement of the transparent pedestrian gallery. The designers of the unique attraction assured tourists of its complete safety. The glass panels that line the gallery floor are an impressive thickness of about 7 centimeters. The weight of one such panel is 600 kg.
It should be noted that visiting the transparent walkway over Tower Bridge in London, unfortunately, it is paid. An adult tourist will have to pay 9 pounds, a child from 5 to 15 years old - 3.9 pounds, children under 5 years old are admitted free of charge.
As London media write, many adult visitors to the transparent gallery have an overly high opinion of the strength of their nerves. Having paid for their tickets, they retreat in disgrace, having mastered at most half a meter of the perfectly transparent path.
