A nearly identical version of Star Wars land will officially open Thursday at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. Visitors will be transported far, far away to the planet Batuu, where the attention to detail is stunning. Guests will find themselves thinking they are in space as they hear spaceships whizzing by. There are random buttons and knobs to push and turn in different places.
“Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge redefines what a Disney experience can be. It offers exploration and discovery, where you can become characters in the Star Wars galaxy. More and more of our guests want to be personally involved in these stories, not just spectators. Disney is giving them the opportunity to do that on this land, with a high level of detail and immersion. It’s an opportunity to play and connect with friends and family that will create memories that will last a lifetime,” said Scott Trowbridge, creative director of Star Wars at Walt Disney Imagineering.
Many elements from different eras of the Star Wars universe are represented. In addition to the locations, the sounds of the land will enchant guests. Renowned composer John Williams has created a brand new set of themes specifically for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and its attractions.
