The OnlineTour service has published data on tour sales, according to which Tunisia has taken its place in Egypt. In the current and next month of summer, the number of tours to Tunisian destinations will reach 15% - Egypt had a similar figure during this period in 2015. In addition, representatives of the resource reported that this is the most successful period of Tunisia for the entire period of observation. Experts believe that the successful resort season in the country is not only a consequence of the tourist crisis of the main competitors, such as Turkey and Egypt, but also the fruits of the work of local tourism organizations and departments. In particular, tour operators note a powerful advertising campaign, which was organized with the aim of attracting a solid tourist flow.
"Based on our forecasts, the number of tours sold to Tunisia in July-August will reach at least 15%. Egypt had almost the same indicator last season, when it occupied the second position in the top with 13-14% for the reporting period. This year, Tunisia "shot" and is now the absolute leader, having captured the first line since the end of June. It is worth noting that Tunisia has never taken first place in sales before - this is the first time such a result has been seen on the Russian market," said Igor Blinov, who holds the position of director of network development at OnlineTour.
Irina Ovchinnikova, representing the Tunisian department in the tourist company "Vand", noted the significant role of failures in the current season Turkey and Egypt in the resort field. The head of the department also added that the visa-free regime established between the countries, the high level of service, which many Russians are already familiar with, and the excellent infrastructure of the tourism sector are of great importance.
