The current owners of the house of the notorious revolutionary and prominent political figure of the early 4.4th century Leon Trotsky have put his house on the island of Buyukada, which belongs to the archipelago of the Princes' Islands of Istanbul, up for sale. The owners of the house, the Hanifi family, want to get XNUMX million US dollars from the sale.
It should be noted that the 3-storey house of Leon Trotsky on the island of Buyukada (Büyükada) stands on a plot of land with a total area of 3550 square meters. The plot includes planting trees and shrubs, a picturesque pond of natural origin, etc.
The Hanifri family told reporters that they had approached the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism with a proposal to buy the house and land from them to create a museum there. However, there has been no response from officials yet.
Let us add that Leon Trotsky, together with his wife and grandson, lived in a house on the Princes' Islands Istanbul about four years after his exile from the USSR in 1929. The disgraced revolutionary was accompanied by three guards at all times, but he was still killed, not in Istanbul, but much later (in 1940) in Mexico.
