Many events took place in that part of Ancient Greece that today is Turkey. The Turkish coast of the Aegean Sea is no longer inhabited by Greeks, but they left behind a lot.
The Dardanelles Strait was once the main route of the Persian and Greek armies. For a long time, the legendary city of Troy was located on the eastern shore, the inhabitants of which were against the constant movements of Greek soldiers. Subsequently, the conflict of interests became the cause of the Trojan War. A lot of research and excavations have been conducted on the subject of the existence of Troy and the truth of everything that happened in the last 100 years. Archaeologists have worked hard to reveal ten cultural layers, which have become the property of the region and an opportunity for tourists to touch history.
The layers mentioned are conventionally designated from one to ten, figuratively formulating 10 different cadences of the existence of the ancient city. Their differences are caused mainly by external factors, such as earthquakes, burnings, etc.
The excavations are presented in the form of a labyrinth. In general, the stories, tales and films dedicated to Troy have seriously excited the imagination of tourists who expect indescribable sensations from visiting archaeological excavations. As a result, travelers have to come down from heaven and after a short excursion ask the guide, "Is that all?" Fortunately, thanks to the model of the Trojan Horse, the indignation and disappointment of some tourists can be calmed down. It is curious that the execution of the model is made strictly according to the writing of the "Iliad". Nearby, there is a certain information wall, on which a model of Troy, created according to Homer, flaunts. A film about the excavations is also shown on it. The Hollywood blockbuster certainly looks brighter and has contributed to the increase in the number of tourists to these lands. However, adding queues of visitors does not mean that they will all be satisfied and will not tell about their disappointment upon arrival home.
Once you have saddled the Trojan Horse, the surrounding wasteland opens up as if in the palm of your hand. If you have seen the aforementioned American film, then you will probably be recreating the scene from the film adaptation at this moment. However, enough time has passed since the film was released and it has probably made its PR move for this landmark for decades to come. Perhaps the changes are barely noticeable now, but investors may appear at any moment, or the government and relevant authorities may pay attention to it and seriously engage in the restoration issue. Whatever the case, Troy has enormous tourist potential. It is quite sufficient for the revival of the city and the beginning of a new, eleventh, cadence in the history of the ancient city.
