Kurumoch International Airport is located in the Samara Region. The complex is located between Samara and Tolyatti. The distance from the historical center of Samara is 35 km. Tolyatti and Kurumoch are separated by 45 km. The international airport got its name from the village on whose lands the complex was built in 1950.
The need to create a new airport in the Kuibyshev region - the old name of Samara, was caused by the appearance of new aircraft requiring large runways. The existing airport Smyshlyaevka in Kuibyshev could not be expanded for objective reasons, so a project was implemented to build a complex of the appropriate time in the Krasnoglinsky district at a distance of 7 km from the village of Kurumoch.
Annual passenger turnover Kurumoch is equal to 2,4 million people. According to this indicator, the airport is among the ten most powerful Russian enterprises providing similar services. It positions itself as a civil airport, the operation of the complex is carried out by JSC "International Airport "Kurumoch", which is part of the Renova group of companies.
Today, the complex has two runways, 50 aircraft parking spaces and a new terminal, which was put into operation in 2015. The highlight of the complex is the presence of the Volzhsky Utes heliport on its territory, which is connected to 40 helipads scattered throughout the Samara region.
