Miniaturk is a museum of Turkish landmarks in miniature. It was created in 2003 and today is one of the largest parks of its kind in the world. Turkey very proud of this architectural project.
You have a unique opportunity to see all the main historical places of the Turkish Republic in detail and in detail. You will even feel like a giant among small buildings and locations.
The park territory contains not only the features of Istanbul, but also other attractions related to all the monuments and architecture of the Ottoman Empire. There are also buildings of ancient Greek culture that stood before the conquest of Constantinople by the Turks.
A great deal of work has been done to organize the park. On an area of 6 thousand square meters there is a parking lot for cars, many souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants with Turkish and Italian cuisine. There are kiosks where you can buy food for a snack. At the end of the park there is a toilet and benches for rest.
A wonderful family holiday with children is guaranteed. A playroom, remote-controlled boats, a chessboard and labyrinths – what else does your child need? You can ride a mini-train, which can accommodate 20 people (adults can ride too).
There are excellent exhibitions at the exit of the park, one of which is dedicated to the Istanbul Crystal Museum, and the other to the large-scale battles in the Dardanelles Strait in 1915-16.
There are 135 models in the park, most of which are in Istanbul. The rest are mini-copies from Anatolia and other parts of Europe. The scale is provided in the ratio of 1 to 25. Every year the number of models increases and soon their number will reach 405 pieces.
When you enter the park, right behind the ticket office you will see an observation deck, where you will decide where to go next, because the park is conditionally divided into two parts: the sights of Istanbul and the rest of the delights of Turkey. Neat paths will lead you to your destination.
Be sure to walk along the replica of the Bosphorus Bridge, because in reality it is forbidden to walk on it. The ruins of the historical city of Ephesus, the Blue Mosque or the Hagia Sophia can be viewed in the smallest detail. And at the replica of the main airport of Istanbul there are original mini-models of airplanes.
The Turkish stadium with a capacity of 52 people is the most exciting for visitors. If you throw 900 lira into the receiver, the floodlights will light up and the team of your choice will enter the field to the national anthem. A very interesting spectacle.
Children will also like the highway with long tunnels, along which cars drive. There is a long railway. All miniatures and models are made with special care and attention. Near each historical building, flowers and trees are reproduced in detail.
The ticket price for locals with a discount is 10 Turkish liras, for visiting tourists the cost is 20 liras. Cash and non-cash payments are possible.
There is a special barcode on the ticket that will show the information in the language you need. You can put the ticket at any counter and it will give you all the important data about the object.
The most useful and up-to-date information can be found in a special application designed for Miniaturk. Download it and be fully equipped for a trip to the museum.
You can get to the park-museum by public transport. The stop is called Miniaturk. The trip takes no more than 30 minutes. There is a huge selection of taxis to get to the place more comfortably and quickly.
