Adnan Menderes is the only international airport serving the province of Izmir, i.e. all the resorts located on the coast of the Gulf of Izmir. The complex is 18 km away from the provincial capital. The airport is named after Adnan Menderes, the prime minister who governed Turkey in the 60s.
Three local airlines are based on the territory of this airport: Izair, Atlasjet Airlines and Sunexpress, but it receives airbuses from 3 foreign companies, including Russian I-Fly, Transaero and Ural Airlines.
The complex has clearly marked terminals for domestic and international flights, and a giant online board will allow domestic travelers to easily navigate "on the ground." In the transnational flight reception area, there are lockers where you can leave your luggage. Nearby, there are offices of several car rental companies.
All guests of Adnan Menderes Airport have access to Wi-Fi for a small fee. Temporary offices with the appropriate equipment have been set up for business class passengers on the port premises. Religious travelers can perform daily prayers in a special prayer room. A pharmacy and first aid station, a hairdresser and currency exchange office, as well as several cafes and restaurants operate around the clock. In addition, the port has an emergency passenger assistance service — 444 9 TAV.
