Dalaman International Airport is located just six kilometers from the city of the same name in the province of Mugla. And although the city itself is quite small (the population is just over 20 thousand people), its airport experiences considerable load, as it receives regular and charter international flights.
Dalaman Airport is convenient for tourists heading to vacation resorts in the southwestern region of Turkey – Marmaris, Kas, Fethiye, Dalyan, etc.
The airport began operating in 1989. Its stated capacity is up to 10 million passengers per year. At the moment, the main load falls on the active tourism season - from April to October, when air carriers launch a lot of charter international flights.
