It seems that the hunting residence of the Tsar from the times of Imperial Russia has found a use in modern realities.
The Daily Sabah publication writes that the mansion will be reorganized into a boutique hotel. The residence will be modernized, but the architectural basis will, of course, be preserved. The "house" of Nicholas II is located in the northeastern region of Kars (Sarıkamış district). It is worth noting that the General Directorate of Monuments and Museums of Turkey will be responsible for the revitalization of the residence, so there is no doubt about the seriousness of the intentions of the local authorities and the quality of the final product.
The mansion-hotel will have 50 beds. The unusual accommodation facility will operate under the strict guidance and control of the local administration.
In the area where the residence is located, both government officials and local residents hope that the renovation of the old building and its transformation into a hotel will make a significant contribution to the development of regional tourism, which at the moment cannot boast of any special achievements. Details of the project and the deadline for completion are still unknown.
The hunting residence is already 121 years old. The construction of the mansion was a consequence of the capture of the region by the imperial armed forces during the Russo-Turkish War. It is noteworthy that there is not a single reliable fact or document that would confirm even one visit of the tsar to the residence. It is quite possible that the construction of the mansion, named in honor of Nicholas II, was a reference to a successful military operation and thus the Russian side at that time wanted to confirm the ownership of the lands of the empire.
