The Turkish Republic intends to focus not only on the beach direction. In particular, the province of Ardahan plans to build a ski resort in the coming years.
In the province, which borders Armenia and Georgia, a winter resort will be launched in just a few years, costing more than 6 million euros.
Such a large-scale and expensive project will be implemented with the assistance of the European Union. Very little is known about the contents of the resort plan being developed. The ski lifts in the winter pearl of Ardahan will be 2,5-3 km long, and in terms of technical equipment they will be among the best equipped in Europe.
Local authorities expect that such measures will help increase the tourist flow due to the exotic transition from the ski resort environment to the atmosphere of a beach holiday on the Black Sea coast. However, this advantage will not be available for a long time yet - the current year will only be spent on approving the documentation and relevant materials. Only after agreeing on all controversial issues will the construction process begin, and this will not happen before 2018. Developers will take the experience of their Western colleagues as a basis, but it is still unknown how correct such an orientation will be in this case.
It is worth noting that the grands of beach destinations are beginning to pay more and more attention to other types of tourism, because every modern traveler requires diversification. In general, not everyone listens to and fulfills these requirements. So far, there is a trend regarding the diversity of the contents of the tour package, which will become the main lever that will set the tone for further production activities.
