On the night of September 4-5, another earthquake occurred in Turkey, the epicenter of which was located in close proximity to the most popular region among tourists – the Mediterranean coast.
According to data from the Kandilli Observatory of Bogazici University, the epicenter of the earthquake, which measured 5.2 on the Richter scale, was located at a depth of about 25.6 kilometers and 55 kilometers south of the popular tourist resort of Kemer (Antalya province).
According to eyewitnesses of the earthquake, ground vibrations were felt not only in Kemer, Antalya and Alanya, but also in other resorts on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, located at a fairly decent distance from the epicenter.
According to the latest reports from Turkish media, the earthquake did not cause any casualties or serious damage. Meanwhile, seismologists are warning tourists and locals about the possibility of aftershocks in the southern coast area.
