The final stage of preparations for the Golden Orange Film Festival, which will begin next Saturday, is underway in Antalya. In an interview ahead of the large-scale event, the head of the resort, Menderes Türel, said that city officials are actively working to turn Antalya into a springboard for global film companies.
The project, on the basis of which the film studio will be built, is close to its logical conclusion. According to the mayor, foreign investors are showing unprecedented interest in the city, considering it as an ideal location for various types of filming. Investors are ready to invest and their financial support is not limited to construction work. The future project will be a clear confirmation that all conditions have been created in the republic for the greats of world cinema to film their creations here.
The resort authorities have already attracted the attention of the creators of the hit Game of Thrones, presenting Antalya as a possible location for filming one of the seasons. The producers were impressed by the city's film potential and said that they would film some storylines in the Turkish city in the future.
The film studio is planned to be built in the western part of the resort, where various pavilions will be built and the necessary equipment can be placed. Hollywood's Universal is completely built up and there is no place to film there, and the process is expensive. Opening a film studio in Antalya will attract producers from different parts of the world who lack the sites that they have in their country.
