TURSAB head Basaran Ulusoy said that the consequences of the events in Russia for Turkey are exaggerated: "The number of Russian tourists in 2015 will break the record. To say that a crisis has come to Russia and Russian tourists will not come to Turkey is a betrayal."

The President of the Turkish Association of Travel Agencies (TURSAB) Basaran Ulusoy said that some were trying to create the impression that recent events in Russia had caused a blow to Turkish tourism. "Russians will go on a trip either out of joy or sorrow. That is, in any case, they will not refuse a vacation. Turkey is one of those countries where Russians prefer to vacation. There is no point in exaggerating the impact on Turkey of the events that are currently happening in Russia. Otherwise, one might think that this is being done deliberately. To say that a crisis has come to Russia and Russian tourists will not come to Turkey is a betrayal."

Basharan Ulusoy announced that in 2015 Russian tourists will beat attendance record. "The number of Russian tourists who arrived in Turkey this year increased by 5,7% compared to last year and amounted to 4,5 million people. And in 2015, this number will reach 5 million people, and Russia will consolidate its second place after Germany in the number of tourists. There will be no damage from this for Europe, because two regions are already preferable for Russians: either Egypt or Türkiye."
