Organized tourism gives the republic great hope in terms of the success of the upcoming resort season.
Russian tourists give Turkey the leading place among early booking destinations. Since the beginning of the year, almost half of the tours have been booked to the country of four seas. Positive trends are also observed on the European market, but domestic resorts, on the contrary, display less active demand compared to the reporting period last year. In fact, such a result was to be expected, because in 2016, Turkey and Egypt, some of the most popular destinations for Russians, were largely absent from the tourist map of domestic vacationers. Greece also experienced problems in the tourism sector.
Experts note that compared to 2015 (last year the Turkish route was closed due to tense relations between the Russian Federation and the republic), this month there has been a growth in demand on the Russian market of 10-20%, and some tour operators are even reporting a figure of 30%.
The current statistics of early bookings of travel companies and the arrangement of positions in terms of demand, according to many industry experts, have not become something sensational. A certain precondition for the growth of sales in the Turkish direction was the activity of Russians, who quite often chose resorts of the republic as a place to spend the New Year holidays. In general, the volume of sales of trips abroad for the holiday period has grown by almost 20%, if compared with similar indicators in 2016. In general, the start of the resort season is still quite far away, so travel agencies hope that the growth will continue and the coming season will be the complete opposite of last year.
