Turkey's Konya to become Muslim tourism capital in 2015-16

According to the official statement of the Secretary General of the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) Iyad Madani, the Turkish city of Konya and al-Quds al-Sharif (a sacred square in the Old City of Jerusalem) will become the two capitals of Muslim tourism in 2015 and 2016.

Decision on designation of capitals of Islamic tourism Horses and Al-Quds Al-Sharif was adopted in Jakarta, Indonesia, at the OIC Coordination Council held in June 2014 with the participation of the head of the Islamic Conference and heads of tourism ministries of Muslim countries.

It should be noted that the capitals of Islamic tourism for the next two years were chosen from among several dozen candidates proposed by member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
