Sanctions will not affect Russian tour operators with "Turkish roots"

The executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze stated on Friday, December 4, that the package of sanctions and economic restrictions, which has recently been in effect against Turkish companies operating in the Russian Federation, will not affect tour operators with “Turkish roots.”

Lomidze told journalists that several large companies have been operating successfully in the Russian tourism market for a long time. tour operators, which are members of international holdings with Turkish capital, and also have citizens of the TR among their board members. We are talking about tour operators: Brisco, Coral Travel, Anex Tour and Pegasus Tourist.

Head ATOR stated that all the companies mentioned are fully-fledged legal entities registered in Russia and making tax payments to the budget of the Russian Federation. According to Lomidze, sanctions and restrictions will not affect any of these tour operators.

"Tour operators Brisco, Coral Travel, Anex Tour and Pegas Touristik are Russian legal entities, not branches of Turkish companies, not subsidiaries or joint ventures of Turkish companies. Legally, they are Russian travel companies that operate and pay taxes in Russia.", — M. Lomidze summed up.
