The driver of a minibus traveling from Antalya airport to the resorts of Alanya lost control and crashed into a metal fence. Luckily, the 23 Russian tourists in the bus were not injured.
The accident occurred on June 27 on the D-400 Antalya-Alanya highway near the village of Manavgat, not far from the resort of Side. The driver of the bus with the state number 07 C 1706, Mehmet Kahraman, lost control, drove onto the side of the road and rammed a metal road barrier at high speed. Part of the road barrier "pierced" the bus along the entire body, entering from the right front part and jumping out from the opposite side.
The Russian tourists who were in the cabin at the time, luckily escaped with only a slight fright. Some time later, another tourist bus arrived at the scene of the accident, which took the frightened tourists to the hotels in Alanya.
The traffic police officers who arrived at the scene of the accident first decided to test the driver for alcohol. Mehmet Kahraman, who was in a state of shock, initially refused to cooperate with the police. However, after joint persuasion by representatives of the tour operator and the police, Kahraman agreed to take a breathalyzer test. The test results showed no alcohol in the driver's blood.
