The five-year-old daughter of a Russian tourist from St. Petersburg, Yulia Pakratova, while on vacation in Alanya, Turkey, fell into a pool due to the carelessness of adults and was under water for about 20 minutes, reports piter.tv

Critically ill 5-year-old Katya was taken to the hospital, where she was urgently connected to a ventilator. After some time, the child, who was in a coma, was declared brain dead.

Turkish doctors

According to Yulia Pankratova, Turkish doctors insist on turning off the ventilator, citing the fact that the girl is brain dead and cannot be saved. However, the mother fears that the Turks simply want to use the child as an organ donor, so they are not putting much effort into the treatment.

Pankratova is confident that her daughter, who is in excellent health, can still be saved, but for this she needs to be urgently transported to Russia. However, the head of the Russian consulate in Alanya, A. Tolstopiatenko, denied information about the alleged proposals from Turkish doctors to disconnect Katya from life-support equipment. He stated that he had spoken to doctors and found out that no one had mentioned donor organs, and the refusal to transport the girl to her homeland was motivated by her critical condition, in which the flight would lead to inevitable death.

As it became known, the Russian Ministry of Health has been informed about the emergency that occurred in Turkey and is ready to allocate a special flight as soon as doctors give the go-ahead for transporting the child. Also, according to unconfirmed information, the Commissioner for Children's Rights Pavel Astakhov has joined this case.
