Even though 2014 has only just begun and the mass holiday season is still far away, more than three million Turkish citizens have already used the early booking service. These statistics were revealed in a recent report by TÜRSAB (Turkish Travel Agencies Association).

Cesme is popular for early bookings

The report notes that the growth in popularity of early booking in 2014 was very significant, as over the previous five years, 8.3 million Turkish citizens used this service, which does not seem like a particularly significant figure compared to the figures at the beginning of the current year.

The main reason for early booking is significant financial savings. The TÜRSAB report provides examples of prices for Turkish citizens who pre-booked a week-long holiday in Antalya for early August for 2 lira, while for German tourists the same tour (purchased shortly before the holiday) will cost 476 Turkish lira, and for the British and Swedes - 3 and 992 lira respectively.

The report also reflects early booking statistics regarding the popularity of resorts. There are no surprises in this regard: as always, the resorts of Antalya are beyond competition, accounting for about 2014% of bookings in 60. Resort towns such as Fethiye, Kusadasi, Bodrum, Marmaris and Cesme share the remaining 40%.
