According to information published by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism in its latest report, the decline in visits to the country's cities and resorts by foreign tourists continued in September.
Thus, according to official statistics, in September 2015, Turkey was visited by about 4 million 250 thousand foreign guests, which is 2014% less than the figures for the same month in 2.31.
One of the main reasons for the overall decline in attendance is a serious decline in Russian tourist trafficIf in September 2014 Russian travelers made up 14.65% of the total foreign inbound tourist flow, then in the first month of autumn of the current year the share of the Russian Federation decreased to 12.44%.
The share of tourists from Germany as a whole increased from 14.84% in September 2014 to 15.62% this year, although in absolute terms there was also a slight decrease. This was largely due to the German Foreign Ministry's statement to citizens about terrorist threat, present in the eastern and southeastern provinces of Turkey. Recall that a number of large German tour operators cancelled tours to these regions due to safety risks for travelers.
As for the total number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey for the period January-September 2015, it decreased by 9% compared to the first 1.1 months of last year and amounted to 29 million 800 thousand people.
