This summer, Istanbul will once again host a large-scale open-air music festival. On June 6 and 7, the free Galataport Jazz festival will take place at Galataport Istanbul, bringing together jazz, soul, and trip-hop artists from around the world.
The festival will be held for the third time and is expected to attract thousands of spectators to the Bosphorus embankment. The main feature of the event will remain free admission for everyone, making the concerts accessible not only to tourists but also to city residents.
One of the program's main performers will be British musicians Morcheeba, known for their distinctive blend of trip-hop and electronica. Also appearing on stage will be American jazz and soul singer Avery Sunshine. Burhan Öçal and The Trakya All Stars will represent the Turkish music scene.
Additionally, viewers will enjoy performances by the ÜÇ project, featuring French trumpeter Erik Truffaz and the Kaan Arslan Co. group, inspired by the atmosphere of mid-century American swing. The evening program on the first day will continue with a DJ set by Gabriels on the open-air terrace by the sea.
Organizers describe the festival as an attempt to make high-quality music accessible to a wider audience while simultaneously transforming the Galataport waterfront into one of Istanbul's most vibrant summer cultural spaces.
