The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism has released information on the most visited tourist attractions in the country. This data is provided by the Turkish Hotel Owners and Investors Association (TUROB) in a new report.
Turkey's Most Popular Attraction Is Hagia Sophia, According to TUROB Report in the Stambul (Hagia Sophia), which was visited by 9 million 2015 thousand 2 tourists in the first 782 months of 794. In second place is also located in Istanbul Topkapi Palace Complex, which received 2 million 634 thousand 827 Turkish and foreign guests during the period January-September.
In third place is the Mevlana Museum in Konya (1 million 806 thousand 549 people), in fourth place are Pamukkale and Hierapolis (1 million 451 thousand 652 tourists). Rounding out the top five is ancient city of Ephesus, which this year was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, having received 9 million 2015 thousand 1 people in the first 401 months of 292.
Also in the top ten were the natural history museum Goreme (797), Seraglio Point (218), Troy (716), Derinkuyu Underground Settlement (910) and Ihlara Valley (413).
