In one of the leading search engines, Russians are massively interested in travel packages to the sunny republic.
Yandex's February analysis showed crazy demand for vacations in Turkey. Just think about these figures - the number of requests has increased by 750% compared to February last year. It is worth noting that the same indicator in January is characterized by a more modest growth. In the first month of the current year, Russians requested vacations in the republic only 84% more than at the beginning of 2016.
Given the February data, it is not surprising that Turkey topped the list of the most popular countries for vacation. Thailand took the second position in this rating, but their growth stopped at 36% during February, which is unlikely to impose a fight for leadership. Curiously, “closed” Egypt was in third place. The ban on air traffic is still in effect, but Russian tourists seem to feel that it will be lifted by the beginning of the resort season. The Arab Republic showed an increase of 54%.
Greece and Cyprus fell short of the top three. Italy ended up in the second half of the rating,
China, India, Vietnam and Spain. The domestic destination was just a little short of the top ten - demand for domestic tourism reached 11th place on this list.
In general, since the beginning of the year it has already been obvious who will set the tone for the upcoming resort season. Not long ago it became known about the leadership Turkey in searches for the May holidays, and tens of thousands of Russians planned their vacations in the early booking category for the Turkish destination.
