On May 5, 7 and 12, the Istanbul Maritime Museum will host a concert series where Bach's compositions will be performed by world-famous musicians under the accompaniment of the "Café Zimmerman" concept.
Bach & Spring will bring together a variety of renowned musicians in three concert programs at the Istanbul Maritime Museum on May 5, 7 and 12.
The first concert "Bach & Spring" will start on May 5 with the Transylvania Baroque Ensemble, which has been touring European countries since 1995, performing works by J. S. Bach, Handel, Telemann and Pisendel. During its work with Baroque music, as well as contemporary Transylvanian music, the group has released five CDs and a DVD. The Transylvania Baroque Ensemble has made a name for itself with concerts of performing quality in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Romania and the United Kingdom.
The concert on May 7 will feature Estonian musicians Taavo Remmel, Ivo Sillamaa and Jaak Suar. Having visited Turkey with the Mustonen ensemble and Hortus Musicus, the trio promises a very interesting and special night with a dynamic Baroque performance.
François Fernandez to perform with Yun Kim Fernandez on May 12th. On May 12th, legendary baroque violinists François Fernandez and Yun Kim Fernandez will take the stage to dazzle the audience. Fernandez, who recently received praise for his concert series “Bach & Love,” will be on stage with the unique Qur’anic artist Fernandez to perform romantic repertoire from Bach to Mozart. Fernandez has worked as a soloist or principal violinist in some of the world’s leading baroque orchestras, such as the Orchestra of the 18th Century, La Chapelle Royale, Melante 81, and Les Arts Florissant. He has been playing piccolo, viola, viola d’amore, viola da gamba, and cello in chamber music for the past 20 years. The artist’s concerts have been broadcast worldwide and have been well received.
