The Turkish Foreign Ministry warns citizens who are in Lebanon or planning to visit the country as tourists to exercise caution and not neglect personal safety measures.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has published an announcement on its official website about the need to comply personal safety measures during a trip to Lebanon:
"Due to political instability and the military conflict in Syria, street riots have also become more frequent in Lebanon recently and traces of non-governmental group activity have been noticed. All Turkish citizens who are in Lebanon for tourism, business or personal purposes are advised to immediately seek help from local authorities in case of danger or any suspicions.
We call on our fellow citizens to exercise caution and vigilance abroad. For the latest information on the current situation in Lebanon, citizens can contact the Turkish Foreign Ministry or the Turkish Embassy in Beirut directly."
