Recall that on Saturday, suicide bombers detonated two powerful explosive devices near the Ankara railway station. The victims of the explosions were members of Turkish trade unions who had gathered for a demonstration calling on the government to peacefully resolve the Kurdish issue. Although initially 20 dead and 100 injured were reported, later these figures increased significantly. According to the latest information, as a result of the double terrorist attack in Ankara, 96 people were killed, 246 were injured, and the condition of many is considered critical by doctors.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, there are no Russian tourists among the dead or injured. This information was also confirmed by the head of the press service of the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism) Irina Shchegolkova on air at KP radio. "Our tourists mostly go either to the coast or to Istanbul. Therefore, the probability that Russian tourists could suffer there is minimal. Although independent tourists are now perfectly oriented in the country, rent cars and can end up in absolutely any point in the country", - noted Shchegolkova.

The press secretary of Rostourism also stated that she highly appreciates level of safety for tourists in the popular resort areas of Turkey - on the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts of the country.
