According to the President of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB) Ismail Ozbozdağ, tourists from Iran, Lebanon, Jordan and Northern Scandinavia are expected to choose Marmaris this year.
TURSAB Executive Director Ismail Ozbozdaj: “After a difficult period of preparation and holding of elections, the country expects significant relief and this will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the tourism sector.”
In 2014, Marmaris is expected to see an increase in tourist visits, Ozbozdazh notes. Due to the instability of the dollar and the political and economic crisis, many citizens of Iran, Lebanon, Jordan and Northern Scandinavia will prefer to vacation in Marmaris, for which there are all the prerequisites.
The Tourism Leisure Committee and the growing congress tourism (travel for business purposes: business trips, participation in conferences, negotiations, etc.) are ready to seriously fight. Ozbozdağ notes: "Various funds are trying to win potential clients. One of the priorities in the Turkish economy is congress tourism. The new concept has already been built, but we must stimulate further development," said the director of TURSAB.
Ismail Ozbozdaj emphasized that this year the flow of tourists is expected to increase by 5-7 percent.
