Not the first time that the Alanya Tourism Development Foundation welcomed foreign correspondents, this time it was the Spanish press. The four-day familiarization tour of the main Turkish resorts was held with the financial support of the Mediterranean Association of Travel Agents and Hoteliers (AKTOB). Lonely Planet Traveller editor-in-chief Clara Arnedo and photographer Einhoa Goma spent the whole day in the company of Alanya Tourism Development Foundation (ALTAV) employees.
ALTAV representative Gurol Birgen accompanied Spanish journalists all day, telling them about Alanya itself, its history, culture, nature, attractions and tourism features.
During the sightseeing tour, the guests visited the Dim Cave, the ancient Tersane shipyard and, of course, the famous Alanya Fortress. Having taken many pictures and thoroughly enjoyed the panoramic views, the Spaniards expressed their hope to come to Alanya again, but this time as tourists.
Goma and Arnedo admitted that Alanya left a lasting impression on them. As a result, the next issue of Lonely Planet Traveller will feature a detailed feature article with beautiful photos and recommendations for tourists. The magazine is published monthly in Spanish and is very popular with travel enthusiasts.
