Having lived a week in a relatively calm environment, the tourism system of Kazakhstan exploded with a new scandal related to vacations in Turkey. This time, the focus is not on Gulnar Tour or even Almaz Tourism, but on a new name in the annals of Kazakhstani tourism scandals – the tour operator from Karaganda, Artur Travel.
According to the media holding “31 Channel”, at least 13 families from Karaganda were supposed to go to Turkey in the coming days on “Artur Travel” packages, however, as it turned out, neither hotel rooms nor plane tickets were booked for them…
Those citizens of Kazakhstan who were “lucky” enough to fly to Turkey were faced with a choice – either pay for hotel accommodation again or live on the street. It should be noted that both the flight and hotel accommodation had already been paid for in full as part of the tours purchased from Artur Travel.
The head of the travel agency "Artur-Travel" Olga Mustafina denies the guilt of her company. Ms. Mustafina claims that the Turkish side, which provides accommodation and lodging for tourists, received all the money owed to it. However, starting from August 6, for unknown reasons, the accommodation of Kazakhs in hotels stopped. In turn, the Turkish company states that it did not receive money, therefore it stopped accommodating guests from Kazakhstan.
At the moment, "Artur Travel" has started singing a song familiar to almost every Kazakhstani tourist about the obligatory and indispensable 100% compensation for damages for all affected clients. Law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan have so far refused to initiate a case for several clients of the tour operator who have applied, since the company is ready to pay compensation.
There is probably no need to remind you how all these promises end...
