On March 18, a gala ceremony was held in Moscow to present an award established by one of the largest Russian tour operators, Coral Travel. The award, called Starway World Best Hotels, is given to the top XNUMX hotels, determined by surveys of Coral Travel clients.
This year, Turkey was the undisputed winner, with hotels occupying 54 positions out of 100. The first place went to the Kefaluka Resort (Bodrum), and the second place went to the Turkish hotel Barut Lara (Antalya). Egypt, Turkey's long-time competitor in the tourism sector, has thirteen positions in the top hundred, the best of which is the third place of the Magic Life Kalawy Imperial Hotel (Hurghada).
It should be noted that the award established by Coral Travel is an absolutely objective indicator of the quality of service, the condition of the room stock, animation, swimming pools, entertainment, food, etc., of a particular hotel, since the winners were determined not by a jury, but by the clients themselves through a survey.
In total, almost 500 thousand people took part in the survey (20% of all Coral Travel clients in 2013), who filled out 183 thousand questionnaires (1 per family). Moreover, the winners were determined not by a quantitative indicator, but by an average rating, which makes the identification of the best hotels independent of the popularity of a particular hotel.
