At a recent summit between the heads of Turkey and Ukraine, Recep Tayyip Erdogan assured Petro Poroshenko that he does not allow the possibility of Turkish airlines carrying out direct flights to Crimea, the press service of the Ukrainian president reports.

At the meeting of heads of state, Erdogan expressed general support for the elected president of Ukraine on the issue of Crimea, and also emphasized the outrageousness of the ban imposed by the Russian authorities on entry into Crimea of one of the leaders of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Mustafa Dzhemilev.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that the mutual “curtsies” of the presidents do not at all prevent Turkey from accepting transit flights (with landings on the territory of the Russian Federation) from annexed Crimea, carried out by the airline “Grozny Avia”, and from allowing numerous violations of the blockade of the territorial waters of Crimea by Turkish passenger and cargo ships.
