With the addition of the Diyarbakir City Walls and the city of Ephesus to the UNESCO list, the number of world cultural heritage sites in Turkey has reached 15
One more place in Turkey added to the list of world cultural heritage sites after the ancient fortress walls of Diyarbakir and the Hefsel Gardens. At the 39th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Bonn (Germany), the list was added ancient city of Ephesus. Thus, the number of cultural heritage sites in Turkey on the world list increased to 15.
