Azerbaijani travel agencies have requested direct flights between Baku and Izmir.

Representatives of tourism associations from Azerbaijan and Turkey recently met in Izmir. The meeting discussed replacing charter flights with direct ones between Baku and Izmir.Azerbaijan has significant tourism potential from Turkey's perspective. It was emphasized that many travelers from Baku travel to Istanbul and Antalya. Establishing air links with Izmir could attract Azerbaijani tourists to this resort.Head of Tourism In Azerbaijan, Zohra Aliyev noted that Turkey and Azerbaijan are similar in culture and traditions. Izmir is particularly attractive to residents of this country. Azerbaijan's tourism industry wants to promote this resort in their country to increase the number of travelers not only to Istanbul and Antalya, but also to Izmir.
