The resorts of the Turkish province of Antalya, located on the Mediterranean coast, are ready to accommodate any number of Russian tourists who, due to the complete ban on flights to Egypt, risk being left without their planned vacation.
As the head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Antalya, Mr. Ibrahim Adjar, stated, in late autumn and winter in Turkey (with the exception of ski resorts) there are always plenty of free hotel rooms, so there will be no problems with accommodating thousands of Russians.
Some of the problems are certainly climate conditions in turkey – autumn and winter there are still much harsher than in Egypt. Moreover, in a number of popular tourist provinces the rainy season continues at this time.
Nevertheless, most of the largest Russian tour operators currently see Turkey as the main alternative to Egypt, which has fallen into disgrace. They offer their clients, who have paid tours to Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh and other Egyptian resorts, replacing similar holidays in the cities of the Turkish Mediterranean - first of all in Antalya and nearby resort towns.
