The famous Russian ensemble performed in Istanbul with a special concert program.
The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the first concert of the Academic Ensemble named after A.V. Alexandrov on the territory of the Turkish Republic. Among the compositions of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army, songs well known to Turkish listeners were performed under the names "Cankkale Turkusu" and "Ceddin Deden".
In general, the concert program was made up of legendary songs written during the Soviet Union. The opening song was the famous composition "Unbreakable and Legendary", which was first performed at the height of the Great Patriotic War. Then the academic ensemble sang no less famous songs, including "Smuglyanka" and "Kalinka".
In the final part of the concert, in addition to the aforementioned Turkish compositions, People's Artist of the USSR Iosif Kobzon performed. Together with the song and dance ensemble of the Russian army, the artist sang "Victory Day" and "Katyusha".
Today, the A.V. Alexandrov Ensemble will perform once again on the Istanbul stage. It is worth noting that the trip to the city on seven hills is just the start of a large-scale and intense tour. Next month, the most vocal servicemen of the Russian Federation will perform their concert program on various European stages.
Unfortunately, due to a tragic event that occurred at the end of last year, 64 members of the academic ensemble will never sing with their fellow countrymen again. On December 25, during the ensemble's flight to Syria for a special concert for soldiers of the Russian Aerospace Forces air group, the plane with the servicemen was shot down.
