Kusadasi is one of the Turkish resorts. It is located on the shores of the Aegean Sea, on the east coast of Turkey. It exists mainly due to tourism. You can move around the city by minibuses called "dolmush", buses or taxis. You can also get to the Greek island of Samos by ferry.
Not far from Kusadasi is Pamucak, one of the most famous beaches on the Aegean coast. in Turkey, which is often compared to the Caribbean. Although this analogy seems extreme, Pamucak leaves a great impression on vacationers. It is a spacious sandy beach conveniently located next to the largest tourist attraction in the region of Turkey, that is, the ruins of ancient Ephesus.
Pamucak Beach stretches along the Aegean coast, where it forms a gently sloping, crescent-shaped bay. It is crossed by the Kucukmenderes River, which flows into the sea known in ancient times as Kaistros. Pamucak owes its strip of sand to this river, which is about 80 meters wide. Because of its width, this beach is never crowded, despite being very popular with Turkish families and people from abroad. The southern end of the beach is filled with hotels that have private areas, but most of the beach is open to everyone.
practical information
It is difficult to find sun loungers and umbrellas for rent on Pamucak Beach, so it is best to bring your own beach equipment. There are also no changing cabins or showers. For beaches with better infrastructure, it is worth heading further south.
The beach is not protected from the open sea, so the water on the shore is often stormy. Special attention is recommended when swimming in the sea, especially since there are no lifeguards on this coast.
Entertainment
During the summer season, you can ride a horse or a camel on Pamucak Beach. Aqua Fantasy Water Park with its own 5-star hotel is also open. The entrance fee is: 16 euros for children aged 4 to 9 years and 24 euros for adults.
Accommodation
Dereli Camping is right on the beach, 10 km from the center of Selcuk. The price for two people with their own car, tent or trailer is 18 euros. The camping hotel offers double rooms with breakfast for 65 euros.
The 3-star Richmond Ephesus Resort is located on the beach and accepts guests for a minimum of 100 nights, with a nightly rate for a double room starting at around XNUMX euros with full board.
Food
There are a few bars and small restaurants on the beach, but for a good choice you might want to head to nearby Selcuk or Kusadasi.
How to get there?
By car: Take the D515 road that connects Selcuk with Kusadasi. To get to the beach, turn west at this large crossroad, located 6,5 km from Selcuk, and drive another 2 km. The distance from Kusadasi to the beach is 15 km, and from Selcuk 8,5 km.
By public transport: Since the road from Selcuk to Kusadasi runs alongside the beach, access is very easy. Minibuses pass every 20-30 minutes and the journey to the beach takes only 5 minutes. However, when you get on a minibus, make sure it is along the coastal road, because not all routes go this way.
Pamucak has a beautiful 4-kilometer sandy beach. There are not as many tourists here as in the center of Kusadasi, the only drawback may be the nearby, quite busy road and several hotel complexes in this area. It is also worth getting to the mouth of the Buyuk Menderes River. This is a paradise for all who love to lie in the sun in a pleasant atmosphere. Pamucak is a beautiful beach, it is long and sandy. Nearby you will find clubs and cafes. The beach is open to surfers.
