The Haberturk newspaper started Saturday morning with an unusual piece of news. The newspaper's journalists reported on a gold find that was located right on the street.
A resident of one of the neighborhoods contacted the police station in Yüreğir (a district in the southern city of Adana). The man said that there was a metal safe lying on the street near his house. Law enforcement officials immediately went to the place of discovery, because the safe was locked and no one knew what could be inside.
Fortunately, the unusual find did not become the subject of a serious emergency. However, its contents still slightly surprised eyewitnesses, since they found gold in it worth over $5. As it turned out, no one accidentally lost such an expensive thing - the "street" safe was the result of an unsuccessful theft. The victim of the thieves was a resident of the house from which the police were called.
The police managed to find out that the victim's own son and his friend tried to rob him. The young people admitted that they "borrowed" a TV and several valuables along with a safe. But the metal load turned out to be quite heavy and the would-be robbers simply threw the safe with gold on the street.
