The trampoline competition at the First European Games in Baku almost ended in tragedy.
At that moment, risking their lives, the volunteers working in the hall rushed towards the athlete and saved him. During the performance, the athlete from Poland Bartłomiej Gesz made a mistake and missed the trampoline.
It later became known that the 19-year-old volunteer had been doing acrobatics for several years and had already found himself in similar situations.
"I was a little worried. However, when I saw that the athlete was not injured, I was very happy," the gymnast said, adding that the Polish athlete thanked him for his help. "In acrobatics, it sometimes happens that a partner can fall, and I can insure him and save him.
The trampoline skater's mistake cost his duet with Lukasz Tomaszewski too much.
Naturally, the Poles took only the last, sixth place in this competition.
