The previous humanitarian ceasefire in Yemen was declared in mid-May.

The parties to the Yemen conflict and the Saudi Arabia-led military coalition supporting the leadership have agreed to cease hostilities for five days, TASS reports, citing a source at UN headquarters. However, it should be noted that the UN Secretariat has not confirmed the agreement. "If anything happens, we will certainly let you know," said Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General. The parties to the conflict have agreed to a humanitarian truce, said Vladimir Safronkov, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN. "Overall, the discussions were constructive."

According to him, during contacts with representatives of the Yemeni leadership, members of the UN Security Council "called on the authorized representatives of the Yemeni leadership to work on resuming the political process with the aim of quickly preventing military action."

"A humanitarian pause is expected to be announced soon," the agency's source said.
